MAY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
The La Grange Art League was founded in 1933 by professional and amateur artists from La Grange and Western Springs. The early meetings were held in various locations, including Lyons Township High School and the YMCA.
In the spring of 1984, the Art League purchased the building located at 122 Calendar Avenue. It began as a gallery and offered framing services but eventually added an art appreciation program for local grade school students as well as classes.
Today, the La Grange Art League offers adults and children’s classes, workshops, exhibits and events that foster an appreciation of the visual arts and support local artists and the community.
