How long have you been in business?

Checkpoint Radon Testing has been operating for just over two years, though I've been in the home inspection business for several years prior to that through Checkpoint Inspections LLC.

What are your key products/services?

We provide professional radon measurement testing for residential and commercial properties throughout the Chicago area. Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the US and the number one cause among non-smokers — it's an invisible, odorless gas that can only be detected through testing. We make the process straightforward and fast, with results typically within 48 hours. In addition to radon testing, I perform home inspections, commercial property inspections, air quality and mold testing, lead-in-water testing, wood destroying organism inspections, and sewer camera inspections. I am also a licensed insurance broker for Property & Casualty and Life & Health.

How do you hope the chamber will help your business grow?

The chamber gives us a chance to build real relationships with the people and businesses that make up this community. Whether it's a homeowner who has never thought about radon, a realtor who wants a trusted testing partner, or a property manager looking for a reliable inspector, those connections happen best face to face. We're excited to be part of that network.

Outside of your business, how do you enjoy spending your time?

I enjoy cooking, collecting bourbon, and occasionally sipping it, too! I also love to travel, and I teach home inspection as an adjunct professor at Triton College, which keeps things interesting.
