Our spotlight this month is on an organization that is also celebrating their 50th anniversary: the La Grange Park Public Library! Congrats on this incredible milestone! Learn more about the library here:
How long has your business/organization been around?
We were founded on June 16, 1975 and are celebrating our 50th anniversary this summer! A party will be held on June 14, 2025 from 5-8pm, in our parking lot. A special video has been created to speak to the "fifty years, countless stories", which is our tagline for the anniversary. The approximately 10-minute video will be played on a loop from 5-6pm in the Mary Lou Hurley Community Room on the evening of the party.
What are your key products/services?
As a library, most would know that we loan books, but our services go beyond books. We also offer downloads of all kinds, passes for local cultural institutions, equipment to check out, and more. We have a vast array of programming options for all ages! To register for a program, visit lplibrary.org/events regularly as the event calendar is continually updated. We also provide services like notaries, tech help, and study rooms.
How do you hope the Chamber will help your business/organization grow?
We are always grateful to the Chamber for their support of our events, their partnership in advertising them, and the knowledge they share with us about the community for which we serve. It helps us reach our patrons to make them aware of our free services and helps us grow our visitors. It is important to us to attend the Chamber meetings as it is a great place to meet other businesses in our community. We have partnered and built relationships with many of them thanks to our membership.
Outside of work, how do you enjoy spending your time?
Our staff have a lot of interests outside of the library, but you probably wouldn't be shocked to discover that many of us are voracious readers!
